Hi everybody…my name is Frangi and I’m a 6-year-old boy. I am being looked after wonderfully and my guru foster dad has been training me on a few things that needed improving. You see, as much as I was well-trained in your human ways, I had two areas that needed help. Firstly, I had this thing you call ‘resource guarding’ and secondly, I was a little crazy around food. In fact, I was described as a glutton. Now, I looked that word up and it meant ‘protein found in wheat’. I thought to myself that it was a very weird thing to call me. Then I found out I was spelling it wrong (gluten). So, glutton is very different and it actually means an ‘excessively greedy eater’. That felt pretty insulting, although I have to admit, probably true. I guess the problem is that I love food too much. The first thing I learned was the command ‘drop it’, so that pretty much fixed the first issue, although please don’t try to take anything out of my mouth. Just say ‘drop it’ and I will. Now, around food…well, I’m still a little focused around meal-time; however, I’ve learned the word ‘no’ around food and that has helped. So, with those two issues improved, I am told I am an almost perfect boy. I also know ‘heel’, ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘go back’ ~ pretty good, eh? I am also a superstar on the leash. You can touch me anywhere. Loud noises don’t bother me. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me (but hopefully not for too long) but I do love the car so you can take me with you…pretty please! I love people, kids, and other dogs (I am definitely a lover not a fighter); however, because of my resource guarding, it would be best not to have kids or other pets in the home for now. And other dogs are great…just don’t take treats with you and it is recommended that food/treats are not used as rewards (my foster dad told me to say that…it sure didn’t come from me ha-ha). My foster dad describes me this way:

“Frangi is calm, loving, and affectionate and loves being with his humans, happily lying by your feet.”

I could lose a little weight but please do it slowly because, as I might have mentioned, I do love my food (ha-ha).
