Hi everybody…my name is Odin and I’m a 2-year-old boy. When I first met the good people at GR, I was pretty disheveled, dirty, suffering from seizures, and had a funny gait. I know…it doesn’t sound too good, eh? Thanks to my amazing foster family, a lot has changed already. I am cleaned up and groomed and everyone thinks I’m pretty handsome (aw shucks!). I haven’t had a seizure since I entered the program and my gait is still a bit funny but it has improved a lot. My doc has me on new and fewer meds and they seem to be working. She also thinks my gait was due to lack of exercise (muscle atrophy, whatever that means) and over medication. She believes it will continue to improve with more activity. My meds are costing about $150 per month. I’m so sorry about that so I’m thinking I might have to get a job to pay for those. I have to admit, I’m getting more and more comfortable each day because my foster family is sooo good to me. I am not an alpha and prefer to follow rather than lead. I don’t have a mean bone in my body and I love all people and other dogs. I am gentle with my treats and you can touch me anywhere. Loud noises don’t bother me and I have two speeds ~ one is play, play, play and the other is crash. Once I crash, I love napping so much it is hard to wake me. My foster family tells me I am ready to find my forever family. This makes me a bit nervous as I need time to adjust to new situations, but if you are patient with me, I will eventually relax. I’m going to miss my foster family and they’re already telling me they will miss me terribly. My mom describes me as a big, sweet galoot. I don’t know what ‘galoot’ means but I do know what sweet means and I try to be that every single day.
