Hi everybody…my name is Barney and this is my brother Brodie. Now, before you say anything, we are very aware we are not Goldens, although I am happy to report that I am half Golden but Barney is likely a Lab-cross, so between us we are at 25%, which was obviously enough for the good people at Golden Rescue to take pity on us since we were in a life-or-death situation. We are both around 8 years old and healthy overall according to our wonderful doc, which is amazing since we have likely never been to a vet before. I have a problem with one eye (partially blind) and Brodie has some arthritis but other than that, we are in good shape. Slowing down but good! Brodie, I must admit, relies on me a lot. I do not mind because we love each so much that watching over him is no problem for me. The number one thing to know about us is that we are the sweetest, gentlest, most loving boys anyone has ever met. We know your human ways and try very hard not to be a bother. We can be left at home alone if Brodie is with me and we’re fine with other dogs unless they are loud…then Brodie just wants to hide. Our foster family is saying that our needs are simple…just needing love, affection, and a place to call home. Again, thank you for taking us in and giving us a second chance…we know it was a ‘stretch’ for you. We will try to repay you with our love and gratitude every single day.
