The First Annual WORLDWIDE Golden Retriever Believer’s Cabin Fever Reliever

Spend a Dog Day Afternoon with Dad!

Fathers and sons, daughters and moms,
walking with Goldens and raising some funds!

This Father’s Day, help us come together while we’re apart and join us on our first ‘independent’ Cabin Fever Reliever walkathon. This is a walk, run or stroll ~ you can walk in your neighbourhood, in the country or forest, on trails, in your backyard or even in your house with all the windows open! You can participate in this event from ANYWHERE in the world.

Due to a number of our fundraising events being cancelled for the foreseeable future, we’ve created an independent walkathon to raise money for our Goldens. Wherever you decide to walk, run, jog, trot, stroll, saunter, dance, rollerblade, bike, do cartwheels, limbo, waltz…just get moving! Whatever you do, please comply with physical distancing and only go to permitted areas…and most importantly, have fun! You can choose your own distance, count your steps, or base it on time. And naturally, include your furry family members.

Here are the details:

DATE:  Sunday, June 21st (Father’s Day)
TIME:  Anytime…totally up to you
WHERE:  Anywhere…you choose
HOW:  Ask friends and family members to pledge and sponsor you

There are many ways you can collect pledges:

1. Use our pledge form if you want, to track your progress and set a fundraising goal! Once you have collected your pledges, you can e-transfer, send us a cheque or call us to donate with your credit card.

Compete for great prizes! Take photos of you and your Golden, other dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens, or photos of ‘Dad’ with your furry family member. Make your photos fun, sweet, hilarious or silly and email them to socialmedia@goldenrescue.ca or post them in the comment section on Facebook under the event. Make sure you tell us who is in your photo. The top three photos will receive a $100 Amazon gift card! 

Walk in honour or memory of your Dad. When you send in your donation, make sure you include that you raised your pledges in honour or memory of your Dad and we will acknowledge this in the next Guardian ~ Golden Rescue’s newsletter.

We hope you will join us to raise money for our precious Goldens. As you know, Golden Rescue is a 100% volunteer run organization and your efforts will go to helping our future Goldens.
