Barney #3925

Gender: male

Status: Adopted

When Barney originally arrived into foster care from Istanbul, he was pretty beat up, scarred, and bewildered. It didn’t take him long to realize that life in Canada was good. I met Barney by coincidence as I was actually looking for a Black Lab. My daughter, however, having met Barney, convinced me to meet this lovely boy. I was not convinced but Barney had other ideas as he wouldn’t let me leave the foster’s living room, barring my exit. A few days later, I reached out to the foster to inquire if my extended family could meet Barney, as they were potential backup caregivers. Following that gathering, Barney made his preference abundantly clear~he had unequivocally chosen me as his family. He leaned against my legs and planted himself on my feet. He even hopped into my truck, adamantly refusing to get out. There was no doubt Barney had chosen me. Today, we are inseparable. It’s such a wonderful love story.
