Hi everyone…my name is Dakota and I’m a 7-year-old beauty. I came from a place you call a puppy mill and I basically lived in a small space in a barn with very little human contact. I was overweight, stressed, and my fur was a mess. None of this seemed to matter to my foster family. I had no idea there was such human kindness in this world. My amazing foster dad says I have come a long, long way and he is so proud of me. I try very hard to please and each day is getting easier and easier and my confidence level has grown in leaps and bounds. In fact, I am told I have improved enough to start looking for my forever family. I’m proud of myself but also a little scared. Golden Rescue thinks I would be best with a small, quiet, laid-back family ~ someone I could bond, chill, and snuggle with who would take me for walks. The doc has looked after me well and did a thing you call spay. I am learning my commands but I would certainly need your help to keep practicing what I’ve being taught. I am gentle. I have no aggression in me and people and other dogs are fine but I just need a bit of time in new situations to calm my initial nervousness. I’m a quiet girl and the most noise I make is snoring (tee-hee). I’m a happy girl and it’s a wonderful new world I find myself in.
