Hi everyone…my name is Nellie and I’m an 11-year-old grand dame or even more appropriately, a Golden Girl. When the wonderful people at GR took me in, I wasn’t so grand ~ I was overweight, my fur was disheveled and matted, and my teeth were a dentist’s nightmare. It didn’t take long though to fix all that. I was put on an instant diet and exercise program, beautifully groomed, and had one long trip to the dentist. Now, I could still lose a few pounds but my fur and teeth are all sorted out and I have to say I feel terrific. I may be an older girl but I still love my walks and car rides and am considered pretty active for my age. In fact, I can still jump into the car…that’s pretty good, isn’t it? I also love to chill and watch the world go by so don’t worry…I’m an adaptable girl. I love people and other dogs unless the dog is one of those pushy types, then I kind of back away but normally dogs are cool with me. I have not been cat tested. You can touch me anywhere. I am gentle with my treats. I don’t like loud surprising noises but I don’t freak either. I’m not too bad on the leash thingy because, as I said, I love my walks. I know I’m getting on a bit but I’m hoping I still have a few good years left in me that I would love to share with you.
