Happy summer! My name is Elsa and I’m around two years old. When the good people at GR first rescued me, I have to admit I was skin and bones and had almost no training in your human ways. I didn’t even know my name. With the help of my amazing family, I have put on weight and have been told I’ve done very well with my training. I know ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘leave it’ and sometimes ‘come’ (although the last one is iffy and selective). Pretty good, right? I’ve also gotten pretty good on that leash thingy unless I see another dog. Initially, I was good with other dogs but I had two unprovoked attacks by other dogs so that has left me nervous so I’m now on guard all the time and very reactive with other dogs. As you can see though, I came by this honestly. I am getting better with some dogs that I know or if you introduce me slowly and patiently. Regardless, I’d be best in a home with no other pets and a secure yard where I can play to my heart’s delight. I am gentle with my treats and I’m not a big barker. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. I don’t like loud noises but I don’t freak either. You can touch me anywhere (and pet me constantly) and the doc says I’m a good-looking healthy girl. I just adore all people big and small; however, until I’ve improved my socialization, it would be best if I was with an adult family or one with older kids. Here’s what my foster mom says about me: “Elsa is so trusting, loving, and cuddly. We can see she is becoming quite playful and is starting to interact with other dogs once she trusts them”. So, I hope you’ll take a chance on me. Just like Elsa in ‘Frozen’, when I become anxious or afraid, I’m unable to control my reactivity…but other than that, I think I’m pretty perfect…if that doesn’t sound too boastful (teehee).
