- Loves people & kids but jumps up so no small children for now
- Likes other dogs but doesn’t quite understand their signals or play limitations so needs more socializing
- Foster has a cat that he barks at and would probably chase (don’t know if he would harm or not ~ doesn’t seem to have much prey drive)
- Ideal family would not leave him alone too long & have a secure yard
Hi everyone…my name is Finnley and I’m a 2-year-old boy. When I arrived at Golden Rescue’s door, I was already pretty well trained, so my transition was pretty easy especially with the help of my amazing foster family. I am still working on two things though ~ one is jumping up on people when I get excited. I’m learning that’s a no-no but I still quite haven’t got the hang of it. The other is socialization with other dogs. I like other dogs but I get too enthusiastic during play time so I need more exposure and more discipline and control. Don’t worry, I’ll get there but you will need to be patient with me and perhaps take me to socialization classes. Other than those two things, I fit into really nicely. I am gentle with my treats. You can touch me anywhere. Loud noises don’t bother me. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me (although I’d prefer to be with you) and the doc says I’m a big healthy boy. I love my walks, running in the back yard, chewing sticks, playing with my stuffies, and snuggling with my family. I have been described as a big loveable, happy goofball. I think that’s true although I’m not sure about the goofball part!
