Hi everybody! I’m Griswold and I’m 6 years old. When the good people at GR took me into their program, I had sores and hotspots ~ likely allergies. My amazing foster family took me to the doc who put me on antibiotics and they are almost totally gone now. Boy, I feel so much better. I am a big grateful lovebug of a boy who loves playing fetch with my ball…it is my favourite thing. My foster mom would sure love it if my forever family had a fenced backyard so I could play fetch to my heart’s content. I am a really good boy at home and know most of my commands. I love people and play well with other dogs; however, when I’m on that leash thing, I’m a big puller and want to go see people and other dogs along my walk. I am very strong so my pulling is difficult to control. My dad thinks I just need more practice, socialization, patience, and time to get my leash walking to a more manageable level. I’m working on it but I need your guidance and patience. I’m gentle with my treats and you can touch me anywhere. Leaving me alone if you have to go out without me is fine. I don’t like loud surprising noises but I don’t freak either. Now that my infections are under control, the doc is happy with me and sees no other issues. Here’s what my lovely foster mom says about me: “Griswold is so loving and smart. He loves to cuddle and is like a big baby falling into your arms. He doesn’t bark much at home. He understands many words like ‘ball’, ‘drop it’, ‘sit’, ‘paw’, ‘down’, etc. He has no separation anxiety and loves playing fetch. He also loves belly rubs and sleeping.” I know I have a funny name, like that family in National Lampoon Vacation, but those Griswolds created a lot of funny chaos and trouble. That’s not me. Other than poor leash walking, I am one easy-going love-bug just living for my next cuddle or game of fetch.
