Dennis & Lynda Norsworthy
Dennis is a treasured supporter of GR and an integral member and the assistant transport coordinator of the transportation team. Dennis grew up in Ancaster, graduated from McMaster, and married Lynda 40 years ago. He lived for many years in Prince George and Winnipeg but eventually moved back to Ancaster. Dennis retired in 1994 from John Deere’s Construction and Forestry Division. In 1998, Lynda discovered Golden Rescue when their Golden Daisy was seven years old. Dennis started volunteering for GR in 1999 with Lynda’s support and encouragement. He has helped out in a number of ways over the years but nowadays is one of our transportation mainstays.
Last year alone, Dennis transported 13 Goldens to foster homes and loved every one of them. When Dennis isn’t transporting Goldens or volunteering at an event, always cheerfully and with a smile, he is working on his 1947 Ford Street Rod, a labour of love that he confesses will likely never end.
We can’t thank Dennis, our King of the Road, enough for everything he does for GR!
