Dave Little

Golden Angels Dave Little

In 2015, Dave didn’t have a Golden and decided to get his Golden fix by volunteering for Golden Rescue. Dave is always ready, willing, and happy to jump in anywhere he is needed. He has also done many long transports picking up our precious cargo. He has also picked up Goldens at the Montreal airport and hosted a number of overnighters. Dave has had three beautiful Goldens in his life ~Ginger, Maggie, and Sarah, who were grateful to Dave for caring and loving them.  …

Kate Haddad-Jones

Golden Angels Kate Haddad-Jones

Kate, a long time Golden lover, started volunteering for Golden Rescue during her mat leave. She had volunteered with her local humane society; however, her heart has always been with Goldens so she thought Golden Rescue was the perfect fit for her. Lucky us! Kate had volunteered for events and tag days but she wanted to help on a more consistent basis. There was a need on the social media team, a perfect fit for Kate, and the social media team welcomed her with open arms.…

Carol & Tom Schoeps

Golden Angels Carol & Tom Schoeps

Carol and Tom started volunteering for Golden Rescue at events in 2004 after they adopted their first Golden, Prince #434.  They adopted their second Golden, Reily #814 and currently share their home with Lochlann #1905.  Carol started volunteering on the hotline and then joined the volunteer coordinator team and eventually accepted the role as team lead.  Tom, who was about to retire, jumped in to help Carol, as she found herself with a lot on her plate as she also took on the Team Resources role. …

Vaughan Kitson

Golden Angels Vaughan Kitson

Vaughan and his wife Lynda have loved and owned Goldens for over 25 years.  This amazing volunteer and Golden lover first was introduced to Golden Rescue at our booth at The Pickering Markets.  He, like many others, was stunned to learn that there were Goldens who needed rescuing.  After talking to a number of volunteers, he decided to get involved and help wherever he could.  Currently, Vaughan is our event valuator, which involves researching events throughout Ontario to see if they might be a fit for us. …

Long-Distance Transporters

Golden Angels Long-Distance Transporters

Golden Rescue has an amazing transport team.  These volunteers answer the call every single time transport is needed…whether it be an emergency that needs to be dealt with immediately or less urgent transports.  The ones we’d like to tell you about now are the ‘long-distance’ transporters.  These are angels who are willing to get up at the crack of dawn, drive great distances (8 to 12 hours), waiting for hours at an airport for arriving Goldens, and spend a largely sleepless night in a hotel with their often smelly, exhausted but grateful Golden who is experiencing their first night in a foreign land. …
