Transport (Quebec, particularly the Montreal Area & Montreal-Kingston Corridor)

Transport help is always needed to move our Goldens from their past to their future new lives. To do this, volunteer drivers travel the province picking up our precious cargo from their previous homes, shelters, vet offices, etc. and driving them to their foster homes. Sometimes this trip is short and can be done by one person and other times the distance is greater, requiring volunteers to work as a relay team, picking up or dropping off at identified locations along the way. Obviously, this is a very important task. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to use their own car.

Estimated time commitment: dependent on your time and availability.

Golden Angels Noelle de la Vega

Noelle is one of our newest, super enthusiastic volunteers. Noelle grew up with a Golden and she missed the daily smiles, quirky antics, and endless love that a Golden brings to your life. She very recently adopted Cleo #3238, who arrived here from the streets of Cairo. Noelle claims that Cleo is the sweetest girl you’d ever hope to meet, which makes her ideally suited to become a Golden ambassador. Noelle threw herself into her volunteer role quickly and became the Ottawa area’s event coordinator.…

Golden Angels The Chicago 8 Team

Our volunteers frequently go above and beyond. Recently, a large group of volunteers put their heads together to help another rescue group in the U.S. It’s a long story about why the rescue group from Chicago needed our help but suffice to say they did and we, in the spirit of cooperation and rescue, stepped up. Julie Marriott, our fearless transport leader, organized these wonderful volunteers: Susan Archer, Val Barker, Joy Cairnie, Bob Cameron, Dan Cummings, Steffanie Delacour, Kim McGlade, Sue Montgomery, Lisa Moorhouse, Laura Mundinger, Meglyn Murphy, Danielle Robinson, Alen Schiller, Monica Seto, Christine Smith, and Sandy Tatarnic. …

Golden Angels Robyn Scott

Robyn adopted Jack #578 in 2004 and when Jack crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2018, he was almost 15.  Robyn of course was broken-hearted but not ready for a new family member yet so she decided to answer a request for volunteers from GR hoping this might fill the void left by dear Jake.  Robyn handles airport arrivals as well as transport requests ~ she is a strong support to our operations team and shares the transport team’s second-in-command role with Sue. …

Golden Angels Ben Samann

Ben spent six years on Golden Rescue’s Board of Directors, primarily as our Picnic Chair but also as a vocal and supportive member of the Board.  Ben first got involved with GR after adopting Maggy #1622, a special-needs epileptic girl who charmed everyone she met.  Since then, Ben has adopted Toby #2000 and Daisy #2221.  Sadly, Daisy recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge but Toby still has the crucial job of greeting guests at the resort. …

Golden Angels Nancy Bourguet

Nancy is one of our newest volunteers in Quebec.  Nancy first encountered Golden Rescue when she was thinking of adopting.  The adoption didn’t happen so she decided to apply to become a foster.  As time passed, Nancy met some other volunteers and, at that point, she moved into high gear.  Nancy started to put her hand up for everything.  The first thing she did was organize Golden Rescue’s first Quebec event at Finnegan’s Market in Hudson. …
