Mike and Kelly

Kelly started volunteering for GR in 2005. Not long after that, she adopted a wonderful bonded pair ~ George #682 and Murphy #683. A few years later, Kelly met Mike and this new family became the four musketeers and avid fans and volunteers for Golden Rescue. Mike also caught ‘golden fever’ and the two have manned our GR booth at events and done transports and home visits.

Kelly works incredibly hard as the interim co-team-lead of the social media team. Mike, as co-host of a Windsor morning-drive radio show promotes GR and its cause regularly throughout his community. He has even had our four-legged friends in the studio to promote events and our Istanbul Mission of Love. In 2015, George and Murphy crossed the Rainbow Bridge, a heart wrenching experience for Kelly and Mike. This loss has not curtailed their passion for rescue, in fact, their pain may have encouraged them to do even more in their memory. There is no doubt when the time is right, Kelly and Mike will adopt again but in the meantime this busy couple keep rolling up their sleeves to help.

They say that they do what they do out of love and passion for Goldens and for rescue. Their reward is in the doing and helping, not the recognition. We certainly understand that but we still want to recognize you both as incredibly wonderful volunteers. We are so grateful for your commitment and belief in rescue. Thank you ~ you REALLY do make a difference!
