Michelle’s sons always wanted a Golden but Michelle was unsure they were ready for that kind of responsibility. One day a friend told her about fostering for GR and this seemed like the perfect ‘test’. Since then, Michelle and her family have fostered eight Goldens and they adopted Dexter #1801, who is a wonderful role model for all their fosters.
Michelle loves to volunteer for GR and we are so happy to have her. Apart from fostering, Michelle does home visits, transports, helps with the lottery, Tag Days, and The Pickering Markets, and was one of the volunteers greeting the second group of Goldens from Istanbul.
Michelle, a special education teacher, says it is an amazing feeling to play a part in the transition process, seeing Goldens unite with their forever families. She says that although there are always tears when one of her treasured fosters leaves, she knows there will be another who needs them.
