Ben Samann
Ben spent six years on Golden Rescue’s Board of Directors, primarily as our Picnic Chair but also as a vocal and supportive member of the Board. Ben first got involved with GR after adopting Maggy #1622, a special-needs epileptic girl who charmed everyone she met. Since then, Ben has adopted Toby #2000 and Daisy #2221. Sadly, Daisy recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge but Toby still has the crucial job of greeting guests at the resort. Ben’s generosity knows no bounds and it’s difficult to know where to begin. Ben and Viamede Resort have hosted the Golden Rescue picnic for five years. Viamede is undoubtedly a fantastic location for the picnic because of accommodations, the lake, and all the facilities. Ben built a two-acre fenced area at his own expense for the picnic so that we could enjoy the picnic in a secure area with all our furkids. Apart from organizing the picnic, Ben has done home visits and transports, is a generous monthly donor, and has hosted the board retreat at Viamede. Ben, along with the Board Chair, also went to Istanbul at their own expense to visit our rescue partners on a due diligence trip that was instrumental in establishing our ‘Rescue Mission of Love’.
